According to the Central Bank of Egypt, this represents a 28.1% rise from about $23.2 billion during January through July 2025. These figures reflect the official data for the 2026 calendar year and encompass remittances sent by Egyptians employed abroad. The current total exceeds the same period in 2025 by roughly $6.5 billion.

Remittances received in July alone reached around $4.5 billion, marking a 20% increase from roughly $3.8 billion in July 2025. On a fiscal-year basis, remittances hit roughly $47.3 billion during 2025/2026, representing an increase of 29.6% compared to $36.5 billion in the previous fiscal year 2024/2025. In June 2026, inflows amounted to about $4.2 billion, compared to $3.6 billion in June 2025, indicating a 15.6% rise. The fiscal-year increase totaled approximately $10.8 billion. Remittance flows maintain double-digit growth momentum
The Central Bank of Egypt also disclosed that remittances during the calendar year 2025 reached a record $41.5 billion, a 40.5% increase from about $29.6 billion sent home in 2024. This gain equates to roughly $11.9 billion in dollar terms. For the first half of fiscal 2025/2026, remittances amounted to approximately $22.1 billion, compared to $17.1 billion during the same period a year earlier, reflecting a 29.6% growth.
Remittances in December 2025 were around $4.0 billion, up 24% from $3.2 billion in December 2024, setting a monthly record at that time. By January 2026, the cumulative inflows for the fiscal year reached $25.6 billion, an increase of 28.4% from $20.0 billion. By February, the total had risen to about $29.4 billion, compared to $23.0 billion in the same month a year earlier, representing a 28% increase over eight months.
Official statistics indicate growth across all reporting periods
The upward trend persisted into the spring months. Remittances from July through March of fiscal 2025/2026 reached roughly $34.9 billion, which is a 32% rise from $26.4 billion in the same period of the previous year. By April, the ten-month total grew to about $39.2 billion, a 33.2% increase over the $29.4 billion recorded a year earlier. April alone generated around $4.3 billion, a 44% jump from $3.0 billion in April 2025, with an absolute monthly increase of approximately $1.3 billion.
By May, fiscal-year remittances had climbed to about $43.1 billion, a 31.2% rise from $32.8 billion during the same period last year. May inflows totaled approximately $3.9 billion, up 13.5% from around $3.4 billion the previous year. The eleven-month total surpassed the prior year’s by roughly $10.3 billion. The fiscal year concluded at $47.3 billion before July’s contribution pushed the 2026 calendar-year total to $29.7 billion. Throughout the latest official updates, both cumulative and monthly figures remained higher than their corresponding figures from the previous year.
